New Technology Podcast

An interdisciplinary team of researchers has developed a new tool that improves the accuracy of electronic devices that measure the color of a plant’s leaves to assess health. The new technology works by improving a sensor’s ability to account for variations in light that can influence how the sensor perceives color. Danny Krafft is a PhD candidate (exp. grad. summer 2024) at N.C. State who helped author this work and spoke with WPTF's Chris Edwards. Click here...

The Corn Growers Association of North Carolina:
Dedicated to Better Living Through the Use of Corn and Corn Products

This is your association, funded solely with your assessment dollars collected at first-purchaser buying points when corn is sold.

With that in mind, the Association works hard to see that your best interests as a corn producer in North Carolina are represented. We are active in marketing, research, education and promotion on behalf of corn farmers in the state of North Carolina.

Each January, the Board of Directors reviews research proposals to determine the year's research projects. If you have ideas or a request, please let us know and it will be submitted in our annual 'wish list' in the late fall. You can see those projects, summarized on this site under the 'Research' tab, and in a newsletter mailed twice a year. Also, take a peek under the 'Useful Resources' tab. Lots of good information and links there, including Dr. Nick Piggott's Basis Calculator. This is a tool the Corn Growers funded to help you market your corn more profitably. The Corn Growers Association is working on your behalf every day, at the state and national levels to help you be the most profitable you can be!

The Corn Growers Association of North Carolina represents North Carolina corn producers by providing a unified voice on state and national issues that impact the lives of our members.

Our association works closely with other commodity and farm organizations to educate members on critical issues facing agriculture and to provide forums for discussion of management practices and training in new technologies in agriculture.

We promote the use of corn in producing healthy and nutritious food products, as a component of renewable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly energy resources, and in a variety of other products from clothing to packaging materials.

The Corn Growers Association of North Carolina is a member of the National Corn Growers Association and the U.S. Grains Council working across the nation and around the world to improve corn and to promote the use of corn.and we also provide funding for research and education projects to improve corn management, promote the development of corn genotypes, and to improve corn products.
